Berenice Abbott

Struck by the rapid transformation of the built environment in pre-depression New York, Berenice Abbott saw the city's photographic potential. As she captured the evolving skyline and ever-changing streetscape, Abbott honed her documentary style photography. This all culminated in her exhibition “Changing New York” at the Museum of City in 1937. Today, her works can be found in the Museum of Modern Art and the J. Paul Getty Museum, among other world-renowned galleries.
